The bright sun becomes enveloped within the afternoon clouds,

as the wind strengthens and swirls.

Homeward-bound from school teen girls scream that snow is falling!

Transforming the mundane and dreary January landscape

into a winter wonderland.

Whilst contemplating the meaning of some snow  flurries sneaking into my tongue:

A teenage lad, vocal and strident, accompanied by two teen girls sliding

towards the train station’s steep steps.

Reveling in the freshly-made footprints and the crunching sound,

he kneels down to scoop a handful of snow into a ball

which he arcs forward to no-one in particular – triumphant with all his might.

But the teen girls, non-plussed, pull-up the fur-lined hoods of their coats

for protection from the snow, falling.
